Half Moon Bay Wasabi proudly carries handcrafted pottery by local artist Sarah Buller. Each piece is distinctly made from a different wasabi plant leaf.
This wasabi leaf clay collection is perfect for serving sushi-sized bites and holding your ground wasabi paste. The pieces vary in size, and each one has a slightly different shape. Zoom in and you can see the imprint of the wasabi leaf veins.
Searching for a unique gift for the holidays? Look no further! There are only a few wasabi farms in the United States, and Sarah took the wasabi leaves from our farm and directly to her studio in downtown Half Moon Bay.
We find the leaves of the wasabi plant to be incredibly beautiful. Chefs we work with incorporate wasabi stems and leaves into their menus: raw, pickled, and sautéed. While we harvest wasabi rhizomes year-round, the leaves and stems are seasonal, from January to about June. Their taste is milder than the rhizomes, but they do carry some heat with peppery accents.
Large dishes range from 5" x 6" to 6" x 7"
Medium dishes range from 4" x 5" to 3" x 4"
Small dishes are about 2" x 3"
